Workshops and Series

Neck and Shoulders Series, Tuesday evenings 7-8pm, Aug 4, 11, 18 2020

These days many of us are using technology more than ever. This combined with stress, lifestyle and postural imbalance can manifest as pain and stiffness in neck and shoulders. In this three week series you will learn postures, actions, and use of props that help to relieve tension, improve posture and provide greater ease and range of movement in the neck, shoulders and upper body.

Asana and Meditation Workshop, Saturday August 29th 2020, 1-3pm

It is said that evenness of mind is Yoga. -Bhagavad Gītā, 2.48

Our world is in the midst of an unprecedented situation with the global pandemic, increasing inequality and widespread uncertainty. This workshop offers the opportunity to pause from the cacophony of news and our everyday life and tune in to our inner well of stability and tranquility. We will cultivate a meditative mind in asana and pranayama and explore the practice of seated meditation. We will practice some of Patanjali’s methods given in the Yoga Sutras and techniques from the Iyengars for quieting the mind and becoming established in the Self.Six months or more asana experience is recommended.
