Winter Introductory Course, Saturdays 1/25-3/14 2020 12:45-1:45pm at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Fransisco

This 8-week Introductory Course is designed to provide a solid foundation in the Iyengar method of yoga. It is recommended for students new to yoga or to the Iyengar method. Students will learn basic actions in the introductory asana, develop strength, flexibility, awareness, and confidence. Each class of the course will build progressively throughout the quarter. Students are encouraged to sign-up for the entire course, however, drop-ins will be welcome provided there is space

Asana & Meditation Workshop, Saturday 2/15 2020 2-5pm at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Fransisco

It is said that evenness of mind is Yoga. -Bhagavad Gītā, 2.48

Dhyana, meditative concentration, is the seventh limb of yoga is a practice leading to self knowledge, peace and evenness of mind amidst the ups and downs of life.

In this three hour workshop, will do an asana and pranayama sequence with the intention of increasing the quality of sattva, lightness, lucidity and balance in preparation for mediation. We will cultivate concentration through the body in asana and explore the seated asanas suitable for meditation. We will work through some of Patanjali’s methods given in the Yoga Sutras and techniques from the Iyengars for concentrating the mind and becoming established in the Self.
